Poster
On letting a city speak through the gaps in its own type — a poster where the message and the place are literally the same shape, themed "this is how the city speaks."
A poster where the message and the place share one outline. The move is simple and a little stubborn: you can't read the words without looking at the city, and you can't see the city except through the words.
The poster is flat cornflower blue. CIUDAD MAÑANA — city tomorrow — is set in big chalky-white letters, but the spaces between them are cut into one organic blob-shaped window, and through it you see a collage of the real city: sculptures, foliage, concrete, signage. A ticker of small text winds along the cutout and frames the sheet, murmuring "el mañana empieza hoy" — tomorrow starts today.
It answers the theme "this is how the city speaks" by letting the city literally talk through the gap in the type.
