On manipulation and the moment a crowd stops looking where it's told — the question underneath being what happens in the instant a spell slips. Made for the typomania.school complexity course, where I read the brief as resistance.
The question underneath is simple: what happens in the instant a spell slips? This is about manipulation — about being told what to see, and the moment a crowd stops obeying.
The dictator is a single hypnotic eye, half-serene and half-monstrous, doing the staring for everyone. Beneath it, instead of an obedient row of followers, a small mob scatters inside a shaft of light — some screaming, some climbing over each other to get out. The palette argues the case: cool blues and white for the hypnosis, hot pink and black for the noise of refusing it, with Thai typography crammed into the margins like rising chatter.
So it's less a portrait of power than of the crack in it — the moment a crowd remembers it can look away. Made for the "Verycomplexstructure" course at typomania.school, where the brief was complexity and I read it as resistance.
