Pomegranate sticker

Poster

A label for a Georgian pomegranate wine, where the fruit is drawn entirely from Mkhedruli calligraphy — pomegranate as type, not folklore.

A label design for “Fruit Fest,” a Georgian pomegranate wine. The pomegranate is a heavily loaded symbol in Georgian culture, so the obvious route would be folklore — and the label takes the opposite one.

Instead of ornament, the fruit is made of language: a single black pomegranate silhouette whose seeds and flesh are drawn entirely in flowing white Mkhedruli (Georgian) calligraphy, with “pomegranate wine” and “semi-sweet” wrapped around it and a bit of deadpan label copy (“attention: keep your phone away”). On a shelf of photographic, fox-and-script neighbours, the stark black-and-white design reads from across the room.

The pomegranate earns its place by being built from script rather than sentiment — heritage handled as type.
