The anchor of my Poster4Peace series, on a single instruction — speak to understand, not to win — and what gets lost when an argument becomes a contest.
This is the anchor of my Understand-Kindness-Empathy-Give Them Noise series, made for Poster4Peace. The argument is a single instruction: speak to understand, not to win. An argument you set out to win is one you were never really having.
It's all typography. A giant white ampersand loops down the center, stitching the printed slogans to scrappy handwritten repetitions — "speak to understand," "not to win" — scrawled like someone reminding themselves, with UNDERSTAND stacked five times in red like a chant over a deep blue-and-red field. The title letters distort and overlap, so reading them takes a second of real effort. That delay is deliberate.
The handwriting fighting the clean type is the disagreement itself — held on one page, with nobody storming off.
